THE CATCH · ONE MODE TURNS OFF ANOTHER

Turn one feature on. Another one quietly turns off.

Two features on the box does not mean two features at once. Sometimes the mode you want switches off the one you were counting on.

Product pages list features as if they were all available at the same time. Manuals are more honest. They tell you that the low-lag mode disables image correction, that the iced setting only works for one size, or that the mop has to stay off the carpet.

These stories follow people whose plan needed two things together. The useful detail was not whether each feature existed, but whether they could run at the same moment, in the same room, for the same task.

How to spot it before you buy

  1. Write down the two or three features your plan needs at the same time.
  2. Search the manual for each mode name and read what it disables, not only what it enables.
  3. Check whether a feature applies to every size, surface or input, or only to one of them.
  4. If the combination is not documented, treat it as unsupported until the manufacturer says otherwise.
